Near-Perfect Speaker Dock for Your iPhone (it'll cost you an arm though)

The Zeppelin Air got its name for built-in Apple AirPlay audio-streaming capabilities. The coolest feature of this stereo dock is that it gives you the freedom to play all your music wirelessly.

Looks and Feature
The first thing that will capture your attention is the polished black mesh-coated look of this speaker dock.

Its simple yet elegant design appeals to the eyes. The Zeppelin Air is 25 inches wide and weighs only 13.5 pounds.

The speakers have two 1-inch tweeters, two 3-inch midrange drivers, and one 5-inch woofer. The digital to analog converters have a solid 24bit-96KHz capability.

There are only three control buttons on the speaker dock. Behind the elegant chromed iPod stand you will find power, volume up, and volume down keys.

The dock comes with a small remote and it gives you standard transport and volume controls, plus an input selector. At the back end of the dock you will see a 3.5mm supporting stereo input jack, a USB 2.0 port for PC connectivity, and a combined video output for TV connection.

The video output supports photo and video display on the TV. The Zeppelin Air also comes with WiFi connectivity.

The USB port is meant for connections to computers. You can use it for firmware upgrades and for direct music playback.

Connectivity and Performance
Zeppelin Air turns iPhone or iPod into remotes to play high quality audio.

You can connect Zeppelin either to your computer via Ethernet or Air's WiFi connection. Once connected, you can go to the Zeppelin Air setup page using any browser on your computer. There you can connect the Zeppelin Air into your wireless network using the password.

The good thing is when you select your Wi-Fi network and enter your password; the unit saves that data in its internal memory.  Once you are done syncing the dock it can work effortlessly with your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, or PC or Mac running iTunes.

Bowers & Wilkins promised "room-filling sound," and they did not lie. The sound quality is really good and pretty loud.

Two bass ports give enough boosts to the audio you are listening to. But there is one small unusual thing with this stereo dock.

The design of this dock makes gives you a feeling that you don't get from a traditional separate subwoofer. The floor-based box units usually found in other systems throws sound from the ground up. But the Zeppelin Air's bass is more directional.

You can personalize the Zeppelin Air's sound with the EQ setting on your iPod or iPhone. The best thing about this stereo dock is that it offers great sound output of both high and low pitch audio.

Final Verdict
The Zeppelin Air speaker dock is priced at $599. Now, that's a really high price to ask for.

But Zeppelin Air is undoubtedly one of the best looking speaker docks in recent times and it offers great audio output with enough connectivity option.

So, if you have that much money to spend for one gadget that will make your drawing room a cool place then this one is surely for you.
