CAT5e outdoor cable: the choice of most network engineers
Though the CAT6 and CAT7 Ethernet cables are available today, most of the wired networks in the world still use CAT5 outdoor cable. But quite interestingly, category 7 and 8 cables have limited use and an enhanced version of the CAT6 (called CAT5e) cable has become very popular today. When one needs to install an Ethernet network for connecting computers with different communication tools and servers, one must consider which cable to use because all of the cables do not offer same kind of connectivity. Again using an outdoor cable which offers good connectivity is not sufficient because these cables allow a computer to share and access information by gathering signals from attached devices. The coating of the cable also plays a vital role in faster data transmission without tampering with or altering the signals.
This is the reason, CAT5e outdoor cables are being used by people around the world. This cable allows network engineers to establish Ethernet networks which facilitate high-speed connection featured by inter-device compatibility, uninterrupted interaction among switches and lowest amount of interference. While different standards of Ethernet network cable offers support for different bandwidth, they come with dissimilar run length. From these perspectives, if you use CAT5 outdoor cables, you stand the chance of enjoying seamless Ethernet connectivity.
CAT5 outdoor cables are very much reliable because it supports most of the cabling requirements. Besides, it offers support for large number of applications which a complex network tends to have to meet the requirements of multiple work processes. This category of outdoor cable also comes with comparatively better signal carrying capacity.
Connectivity: As far as connectivity support is concerned, CAT5e outdoor cable works with 10/100 Ethernet which is also called Fast Ethernet with support for digital audio signal. But one of the key reasons, this outdoor cable has remained as the best pick for the owners of complex networks is its ability to work in Gigabit Ethernet networks which requires data transmission at a speed of up to 1000MB. The reliability of CAT5e cable is even more because it allows a network owner to switch back to Fast Ethernet environment any time. So, you can virtually utilize better bandwidth and if you have installed 100Mbps switch, performance is going to be even higher.
Lesser interference: Signal interference is one of the most critical elements network owners are so much concerned with. When one uses ordinary network cables, a signal from a particular cable can affect the signal transmitting through another. In order to prevent crosstalk resulting from such interference, network engineers prefer CAT5e outdoor cable. Another issue that plagues the Ethernet network is EMI (Electromagnetic Interface) which arises from the radiation oozing from magnetic and electric fields. CAT5e cables can be used to eliminate interference from such fields to some extent.
Better information environment: Unless a network demands the use of CAT5 cables, the Enhanced CAT5 cable certainly is a better option because of its advanced quality and durability. In all the organizations which need a sophisticated information environment, this enhanced version is used because it can offer support for virtual patching and crossovers. Moreover, since it has a run length of 100 meters, network owners can safely use it without installing hub or bridge for successful transmission.
