What is WiFi?
What is WiFi?
Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) is a data assignment motor over a wireless network that uses radio waves. WiFi uses 802.11 networks, which comes from IEEE. The IEEE sets range standard for technological protocols. The IEEE uses a numbering system to rank out these standards. Radio waves are used by many technologies such as: cell phones, televisions, radios, navigation, and much more. Communication over a wireless network is much identical using walkie-talkies to communicate from A to B.
SO WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ME AND FREE WIFI
A data processor or mechanism needs a WiFi adapter to connect to a WiFi network; A WiFi adapter metaphrase data into a radio signal and then transmits it using an antenna. From the WiFi connection a wireless router receives the signal and decodes it. After the router has received and decoded the radio waves, it is then sent to the internet using a physical Ethernet Connection. All your emails, photos, websites, online activity, are all processed though this data flow explained here, at the speed of light. Unless you're on a 56k connection.
Free WiFi is like a walkie talkie
This is not a one way water passage or transmissions, remember, it's like a walkie talkie–transmissions can be sent back and forth. The router also receives information from the internet, then translating it into a radio signal and sending it to a computers WiFi adapter. WiFi transference are frequencies of 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, this is considerably higher than the frequencies used for cell phones, walkie-talkie, and televisions. Frequencies are what allow signals to ferry data, and measures how much that can carry. The higher the frequency of the radio wave, entails more data at a faster rate to be transfered.
To create a basic wireless network, you will need an internet connection, a router that bed wireless frequencies, and a wireless adapter. From there it's all dipping.
